Volkswagen’s CC is already a sharp-looking sedan, but European customers can add a little extra visual flair with the new CC R-line model.
In Europe, VW’s R-line packages are akin to Audi’s S-line packages. R-line cars often receive the visual flair of larger, sportier models, but without the cost or fuel economy penalty involved with more powerful engines. Changes are typically cosmetic only — and such is the case with the CC R-line.
Designers restyled the CC’s front spoiler and side skirts, giving it a more dramatic look, while the rear fascia dons smoked taillights that are exclusive to the CC R-line. Unique “Mallory” 17-inch aluminum wheels are standard, but 18-inch wheels are optional. Inside, VW added custom aluminum door sills and a standard 3-spoke, multi-function leather steering wheel.
VW will offer the R-line package with all available CC engines at a price of €2200 ($3200). Unfortunately, for those on this side of the Atlantic, the Passat CC R-Line won’t be offered in the U.S.
