This line drawing previews the Toyota FT-Bh concept, a hybrid city car that will make its debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show. The concept is an affordable city car designed to offer extremely low driving emissions.
Previewed only by an abstract sketch, the Toyota FT-Bh is touted as an ultra-light, full-hybrid car designed for urban use. Toyota says the car’s designers avoided using expensive or complicated materials, which probably means the concept city car eschews lightweight carbon fiber.
There are no powertrain details on the FT-Bh, nor does Toyota say how many passengers it might accommodate, but the concept car is reportedly “an economically viable production framework.” That could mean Toyota plans to push the FT-Bh into series production at a later date.
Also on display at Toyota’s stand in Geneva will be the GT 86 sports coupe, the new Yaris hybrid, the NS4 and FCV-R concept cars, and the diji concept — which is a renamed version of the Fun-Vii that bowed at last year’s Tokyo show.
