The Blacked-Out Pony Car Shootout

On any given day, press releases touting everything from new cars to aftermarket parts to “lifestyle accessories” turn up in the Automobile inbox, and many don’t make the grade. Once in a while, though, one stands out from the rest, and today we bring you the Blacked-Out Pony Car Shootout.

This particular press release came by way of Rocket Racing Wheels, which is releasing a new line of “Rocket Booster” wheels designed specifically for the modern muscle car trio: the Chevrolet Camaro, the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang. Normally, aftermarket accessories have to be particularly cool or unusual to get air time, but Rocket sent along three pictures of their wheels mounted to the muscle cars that we deemed worthy.

We here at Automobile Online are partial to the Challenger, but now it’s your turn to vote. Which of these three murdered-out muscle machines would best scare small children in your neighborhood? If you’re not a fan of the black-out motif, which car is the worst adaptation of the modern muscle car? Tell us in the comments below.

In case you’re interested in the wheels, Rocket Racing Wheels offers the “Rocket Booster” line in 18- and 20-inch sizes with bolt patterns and offsets specifically tailored to your muscle machine of choice. The lightweight aluminum rollers are available in Gloss Black, Chrome, Hyper Silver and Hyper Shot (as seen on the Mustang) and are designed with the smallest lip possible to maximize viewing of your high-performance brake setup. Prices range from $285 to $420 per wheel.
