Subaru has teased the VIZIV concept in advance of its 2013 Geneva Motor Show debut. What we know about it so far: it’s a crossover, and that’s about it. No details were given on the vehicle’s size or powertrain, which leaves us to speculate on where a potential production variant might fit into the Subaru lineup. Does this preview the Tribeca’s replacement? Could it lead to a small crossover like the Mini Countryman and Paceman? Or is it merely a design exercise with no production intent to hint at Subaru’s future styling?
Subaru says the VIZIV’s name is inspired by the phrase “vision for innovation,” and that the next-gen concept embodies the brand’s values of “enjoyment and peace of mind.” Unfortunately, that tells us nothing about the upcoming concept. All we’re given to work with is a single close-up rendering of the concept’s front end, which shows a hexagonal grille and slender, C-shaped headlights. The rest of the car is obscured by shadow, but brighten it up a bit in Photoshop and the lines seem to hint at a two-door body style. If that’s the case, the VIZIV could preview a small crossover positioned against the Mini Paceman and other small, sporty ‘utes.
We’ll find out more about the VIZIV closer to its Geneva debut, when the concept will take the stage alongside the 2014 Subaru Forester. Until then, take a look at the gallery below and tell us what you think the VIZIV will be.
