SRT Tour Gets Started in Pennsylvania, Runs Through September

For the second year in a row, Chrysler is taking its SRT brand on the road with its SRT Tour. The 2012 tour is kicking off in Carlisle Pennsylvania this weekend. The high-powered convoy features the performance brand’s 2012 models, including the Chrysler 300 SRT8, Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT8, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Stops for the SRT tour have been announced for July, with August and September stops to be announced.

The four vehicles will drive to each venue, with a display trailer with giveaway items and portable video screens towed by the Grand Cherokee SRT8, in a real-world demonstration of the high-performance SUV’s practicality. Conspicuously absent from the tour announcement was any mention of the 2013 Viper, SRT’s first bespoke product. However, the tour’s culmination at the Viper Owner Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina in September does give some indication of what might be coming later in the tour.

You can follow the tour’s progress on the tour’s home page at www.drivesrt.com/tour/, or on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Below are the announced stops for the tour in July:
