Sportec Crafts a 400-hp Audi TT RS

Sportec Audi Tt Rs

We were slightly taken aback when we learned Audi’s TT RS would be pumping out 335 hp, but apparently, it’s not enough. Swiss tuner Sportech has created a “Stage One” package, which makes the über-TT even more wild.

In stock form, the turbocharged 3.5-liter I-5 in the TT RS cranks out 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Sportec’s Stage One package, which seems to be little more than some modest reprogramming of the Audi’s engine computer, boosts those figures to 400 hp, and a solid 405 lb-ft of torque at 2650 rpm.

Impressive, and we can’t help but notice both figures edge close to those surrounding the 4.2-liter V-8 found in an R8 4.2 (420 hp, 317 lb-ft @ 6,000 rpm).

The Stage One package runs approximately $1900, but like the TT RS model itself, this Sportec creation will remain exclusive to the European market.
