Some second-generation Toyota Prius cars are due for a recall because of a coolant pump problem, according to Reuters.

The Problem: Toyota says the design of its electric water pump could let air bubbles enter the system, eventually making the hybrid components heat up. A warning light might appear in the Prius‘ gauges and if drivers ignore the warning, engine power would be reduced if the car is in danger of overheating.
The Fix: A redesigned water pump. Priuses outside the U.S. will be recalled, too.
Number of vehicles potentially affected: 378,000. The recall is expected to begin early in December.
