Wait, didn’t Volkswagen recently decide to not sell the next Phaeton here?
Yes…kind of. We covered the introduction of the new, updated Phaeton at the Beijing Auto Show in a big, shiny conglomeration of pictures. Automobile Magazine spent a year with a Phaeton, but the car didn’t find many buyers in America.

When can we expect it?
According to a Volkswagen spokesperson, most likely no earlier than 2016. The spokesperson echoed Volkswagen chairman Martin Winterkorn‘s sentiment that the decision to remove the Phaeton from the U.S. market was “premature,” and that the car has a loyal base of customers.

What? Isn’t the big news today the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta?
Well, true — it is. Visit Automobilemag.com for Jetta genealogy, weigh in on your favorite Jetta, and read our first details on Volkswagen’s new, small sedan.
