Take a good look at the Mazda Takeri Concept — it is essentially a tarted-up version of what the 2014 Mazda 6 will be.
After seeing the Takeri in person, it’s clear that photographs don’t do the car justice. There are interesting and intricate details — like the lens-free head- and taillights — that don’t carry over in pictures. Mazda’s latest concept looks stunning in the metal, with sinewy lines and muscular haunches the Takeri’s look bodes well for the upcoming 6 sedan that will definitely be the stylish standout in the midsize class once it hits the market. The overall look is sleek and a touch mischievous thanks to the pentagonal grille and rich red paint.
The Takeri Concept originally made its debut last winter at the Tokyo auto show and is powered by Skyactiv-D diesel engine; however the 2014 Mazda 6 will use the same 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline I-4 that is found in the Mazda 3i and CX-5.
