BMW brought its X1 SUV to the New York auto show, as the long-promised subcompact entry will finally be coming the U.S. market this fall. The most surprising aspect about this model is that it will be the least expensive BMW. The 4-cylinder, rear-wheel-drive version starts at $31,545 (including destination), which undercuts the 128i coupe ($32,095) by $570. Other X1 variants are the all-wheel-drive turbo four-cylinder, the xDrive28i, at $33,245; and the turbo six-cylinder, which is AWD only, the xDrive35i, for $39,345.
