Do you find modern cars boring and would rather attend a classic car show than one of the many product launches? If you do, last weekend’s Concours d’Elegance of America at Meadow Brook showcased some great classic cars. We happened to be in attendance, snapped some photos of a few of the cars, and are bringing you Name That Elegant Car this week.
Think you know what classic car is pictured in the detail photo above? Take your guess in the comments below and we’ll reveal the answer tomorrow, along with another classic car.
Did You Name Yesterday’s Elegant Car?
Congrats to those who picked yesterday’s car out as a 1958 Buick, and further kudos to those who surmised this to be a 1958 Buick Limited.
The Limited model name was originally used in the late 1930s and early 1940s, but it resurfaced in 1958 to grace Buick’s premier model. The car was virtually fully loaded, and was powered by Buick’s 364-cubic-inch V-8. Limiteds’ sticker prices were well above $5000, and as a result, only 7438 examples — including 838 convertibles like this car — were built. The model was replaced by the Electra 225 model line the next year.
Fun fact: ’58 was the first year for Buick’s floating cube grille insert, which would appear once again in 1959. We’ve been told there are no fewer than 160 chromed cubes housed within the insert — best of luck keeping that bling clean…

Just to be different I’ll go with 1937 Auburn 852 Speedster.
I’m gonna take a wild guess that this is a 1935 Auburn 851 Supercharged. I hope I’m correct.
