Possibly looking to be a thorn in Porsche’s side, Mini has decided to re-challenge the German automaker to its highly publicized race at Road Atlanta after first denial.
Last week, Mini challenged Porsche to a race around Road Atlanta. Mini intends to challenge the 911 Carrera S with its own Cooper S, and after experiencing rejection through a short letter, Mini chief Jim McDowell once again got in front of the camera to answer Porsche. This time around, however, the stakes were raised.
The new prizes include choices between two tickets to a Justin Bieber concert (with backstage passes!), a lifetime membership to a “salami of the month” club, a collection of pastel cashmere sweaters, a slightly used home gym system, or a plaster statue of Porsche Cars North America CEO Detlev Von Platen, to be erected in the lobby of Mini’s North America headquarters. Bragging rights and custom-printed t-shirts will also likely remain on the table. Once again, we will have to wait and see if this collection is enticing enough for Porsche to reconsider the challenge set for June 21.
Head on over to YouTube to see the second Mini-Porsche challenge video. While Porsche may rebuff Mini again, the small-car maker is reportedly still holding an unspecified event at Road Atlanta on June 21. And does anyone else think Mini may have an ace up its sleeve?

If you look at the bigger picture, its all about the MPG these to vehicles get. From what i’ve heard, the vehicles will have a gallon limit when they race, The Porsche will lose by running out of gas before the MINI.
