Man Sinks Bugatti Veyron in Two Feet of Water

Bugatti Veyron

Rule of thumb: if your day takes a horrible turn for the worst, blame the pelican.

That’s just what a man in Texas did after rocketing his $1.3 million-dollar Bugatti Veyron into two feet of water. According to the Galveston County Daily News, the man was driving through the area to look at real estate, when a low-flying pelican distracted him.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the cell phone he dropped was also a distraction, but nevertheless, he reportedly jerked the wheel in response to the bird, hit a muddy slope, and landed in the lagoon.

According to the paper, the Veyron’s 1001-hp W-16 engine “gurgled like an outboard motor” for about 15 minutes before it died. Somewhere, Ettore Bugatti is spinning in his grave. For what it’s worth, I’m bawling like a Sanjaya fan

Video of the sunken Bug being extracted from the bog is available on YouTube. Try not to weep openly in front of coworkers, but if you should, you can always blame the pelican…

This is the saddest thing a driver can do…and to top it off he blamed a bird. I mean come on…A BIRD I TELL YOU!!!

Just because you can afford to drive one, doesn’t mean you’re able to drive one. What a tool. I also have to wonder about the towing guy who drug it out of the lagoon while still in gear, that can’t be very good for the all wheel drive system.
