Take a good, long look at the shape you see here. If you don’t see the next-generation BMW 5-series hiding amidst the silvery spheres, you’re not looking hard enough.
Instead of issuing the typical shadowy “teaser” shots, BMW chose instead to install a “kinetic sculpture” of the new 5’s profile at its museum in Munich, Germany. We wish we were slightly closer to Munich, as the sculpture — which seems to randomly grab spheres from midair and arrange them in the shape of a car — is out of this world and utterly entrancing.
BMW claims it will replace the wild art with the actual 5-series come November 23, when the car is officially launched. Although we’ve yet to see the car in detail, the final product will resemble the 5-series Gran Turismo, save for the sloping roofline.
