Kia to Debut New Soul Concept in Detroit
The 2010 Kia Soul is a relative newcomer to the American market, but that won’t stop Kia from displaying a new version at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. Details are sparse, as the automaker released only one rendering (pictured) and mentioned the concept will “demonstrate the flexibility of the original design.”
From the shadowy drawing, we can see the B-pillar follows the shape of the D-pillar on the production car, hinting to us that this Soul may have but two doors. As such, we’re guessing the concept could be either a coupe-like crossover or perhaps a panel van. The headlights, side makers, and a roof clearance lamp are illuminated in a soft blue-green light, which could be a sign that the concept uses some of Hyundai/Kia’s latest eco-friendly technologies.
While those are all possibilities, we’ll have to wait until January 11 to see what new idea Kia has cooked up this time. Stay with Automobile Magazine for the latest updates on the Soul concept, as well as all the breaking news surrounding the Detroit auto show.
