Kia Borrego Fuel Cell Vehicle May Debut at 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show

2009 Kia Borrego

Although it’s available in both V-6 and V-8 forms, we hear a different type of powertrain will be installed in a 2009 Kia Borrego for the upcoming 2009 Los Angeles auto show: a hydrogen fuel cell.

Kia-World.net reports that the fuel-cell Borrego, deemed the Borrego FCEV, will make its global debut at next week’s LA auto show. Few details are currently known, though we hear the hydrogen-powered Borrego delivers 154 hp and offers a range of 315 miles.

Like previous fuel cell prototypes built by Hyundai and Kia (this being the fourth iteration), the Borrego FCEV is expected to be built in small numbers for real-world testing by 2010.
