Jeep has just revealed the Wrangler Unlimited Altitude edition, which will be featured with USA Basketball in a new commercial debuting during the NBA Finals on April 28.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude will be available in four colors: Deep Cherry Red, Black, Bright White, and Bright Silver Metallic. Altitude-specific pieces are purely cosmetic, so you’ll still find a 3.6-liter V-6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque under the hood.
The Wrangler Unlimited’s removable hardtop trades its grained black plastic for a smooth body-colored painted top. Front and rear bumpers now have body-color paint on their center sections. The exterior also gains a Mopar black fuel cover, matte black Jeep grille badge, and black hood graphic. The special-edition Wrangler gets unique black 18-inch five-spoke alloys with polished wheel rings.
Red stitching contrasts with the all-black interior and is found on the leather seats, door panels, center armrest, berber floor mats, and steering wheel. Jeep added piano black trim to the vent rings, steering wheel spokes, door pulls, and passenger-side grab handle.
The Wrangler Unlimited Altitude joins the Altitude special edition models of the Compass, Grand Cherokee, and Patriot SUVs and will start at $34,640 (including $900 destination charge) when it goes on sale in May. Only 4500 Wrangler Unlimited Altitudes will be built. Jeep first showed the blacked-out Grand Cherokee concept in January and last month announced the first three Altitude special edition Jeeps would reach showrooms in May.
