Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 fans, take off your Xbox Live headsets and listen up! If you’re looking for transportation for life in the real world, the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 special edition is right up your alley.
For the second year in a row, Jeep has partnered with video game maker Activision to forge a special edition Wrangler based on one of the CoD franchise. Last year’s game-inspired machine Jeep unveiled the Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops edition, but this year’s customized Jeep is tied to the Modern Warfare 3 title, which will hit stores in November.
While the game forces players to fend off an invasion from the Russian Federation, the special-edition Jeep isn’t exactly ready for the battlefront — but it is ready for some serious off-roading. Based on the already competent Wrangler Rubicon, MW3 models receive a number of goodies raided from the Mopar parts catalog. A power dome hood, heavy-duty front bumper (with provisions for an optional winch), upgraded rear bumper, rock rails, and taillamp guards. MW3 Jeeps are available in either black or silver paint, and also sport special logos on the gauge cluster, dashboard, floor mats, seatbacks, and headrests.
The MW3 package is available on both 2- and 4-door Wrangler Rubicon models, although pricing has yet to be announced.
