IntelliChoice has named the winners of its 2013 Pre-Owned Car Program awards, and is seeing some familiar faces. Volvo and Hyundai have been given the top awards, possibly making life simpler for used car consumers across the U.S..
The two automakers won in the Premium and Popular categories, which included 12 and 15 brands competing, respectively. This is the sixth consecutive year Volvo has win the IntelliChoice Best Premium Program award while this marks the second year Hyundai gets the Best Popular Program award.
“IntelliChoice issues the industry’s only report card for Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. Many manufacturers develop their CPO programs using the IntelliChoice.com inspection and ranking criteria as benchmarks,” said Eric Anderson, Ownership Database Supervisor at IntelliChoice.
Volvo and Hyundai each excelled in the Warranty and Inspection categories. IntelliChoice says Volvo received a perfect score for Inspection, and was in the top five for the Warranty and Used Ownership Cost scores. The Volvo program includes six years/100,000 miles of comprehensive coverage with no deductible.
Hyundai may be having some troubles at the moment with EPA-rated mileage claims, but it received a perfect Inspection score and the second-highest Warranty score. Though Hyundai and Volvo won the overall awards, the IntelliChoice Certified Pre-Owned awards have six categories.
