“The Walking Dead” themed Hyundai Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine (ZSM) will debut at the upcoming 2013 New York Comic-Con show, joining specially modified Elantra Coupe and Veloster variants in the automaker’s lineup. The Santa Fe ZSM was designed by “The Walking Dead” fan Anson Kuo on The Walking Dead Chop Shop configurator app to be built for the show.
Custom car builder Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) brought the Hyundai Santa Fe ZSM to life; the modified crossover will be on display at the Hyundai and Future US booth at New York Comic-Con show. The winning Santa Fe ZSM features knife blades, an automatic crossbow, razor-wired windows, multiple machine guns, a samurai sword, aluminum armor, and a muffler silencer to avoid unwanted attention from the undead. Kuo said having knives as the primary weapon helps conserve ammunition.
“We love Anson Kuo’s take on this Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine – it’s creative… and deadly,” said Steve Shannon, vice president of marketing, Hyundai Motor America, in a release.
The Hyundai Veloster ZSM, designed by “The Walking Dead” comic series creator Robert Kirkman, unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con will also be on display in New York in a special gallery celebrating “The Walking Dead A Decade of Dead.” The gallery will showcase “The Walking Dead” artwork, famed illustrations, and autograph signing by artist Charlie Adlard as well as a private screening of the world premiere of the“Hyundai Presents The Walking Dead: A Decade of Dead” documentary.
