A brochure of the longed-for Honda CR-Z has surfaced in Japan. The pamphlet explains everything from color options to power output. Being Japanese, this may not be exactly what we’ll see this side of the Pacific, but we’d bet it’s pretty close. We most recently saw the Honda CR-Z at the 2009 Tokyo auto show, and the car shown in the pamphlet is a dead ringer for that car. With this pamphlet, we now have another piece of the CR-Z puzzle.
Powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor, the CR-Z can operate in any of three driving modes: normal, economy, and sport. Power output figures are set at 112 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers get a bump when the electric motor assists, horsepower is increased by 12 and torque figures are bumped up an impressive 56 lb-ft. Enthusiasts will be excited by the optional six-speed manual transmission and typical hybrid buyers will likely opt for the more traditional CVT.
Exterior color choices are standard Honda hues, while the interior looks to get leather as an option. With all efforts to conserve energy put forth, the CR-Z utilizes LED lighting all around. The large polished wheels found on the concept model have thankfully made their way onto the production unit.
Pricing on the CR-Z is expected to come in under $20,000, while a release date is unannounced. This brochure is a good sign that the CR-Z is inching closer to production. Will we see a production CR-Z next month at the 2010 Detroit auto show?
