Hamann unveils BMW X6 Tycoon Widebody

Hamann Bmw X6 Tycoon Widebody

Hamann Motorsport has turned its tuning efforts toward BMW’s X6 “sports activity coupe.” The resulting X6 Tycoon widebody offers enhanced styling (functionally not cosmetically in our opinion) and improved performance.

The German tuners offer a package for the X6 xDrive35i that bumps the output from 300 hp to 360 hp and ups the torque from 300 lb-ft to 398 lb-ft. Hamann also tunes the European diesel models raising the power of the xDrive30d and the xDrive35d from 235 hp and 286 hp to 261hp and 316hp respectively. The diesel models also boast an impressive torque gain of 59 lb-ft each giving the 30d model 442 lb-ft and cranking the 35d up to 487 lb-ft.

The Tycoon’s body kit is intended to give the crossover a more muscular stance. The front fenders are wider and made from a lightweight composite material. A new front air dam features larger air intakes and LED running lights. Out back, Hamman adds a three-part diffuser, and a new rear hatch spoiler and roof spoiler. Anodized alloy wheels are also part of the package. The ultra-light forged wheels measure 23 inches in diameter and are wrapped in 315/25 R 23 tires. Handling is further enhanced by progressively coiled springs that lower the X6 by 40 mm in the front and back.

Inside, the Tycoon’s interior is trimmed with aluminum and carbon fiber accents. The speedometer is swapped for a unit that reads up to 300 km/h and a three-spoke sport steering wheel is also part of the deal.

Hamann-tuned BMW X6 Tycoon editions of the xDrive35i, 30d and 35d are currently available in Europe, and a package for the mighty xDrive50i is in the final stages of development.
