Last year, G-Power revealed its other tuned E92 M3, simply called the Tornado. While the M3 Tornado packs 500 supercharged horsepower in an otherwise traditional-looking body, both the Tornado CS (presumably for Club Sport) and GT2 S get bumped to 600 horsepower thanks to a new 7.25-psi blower that also motivates 428 pound-feet of torque. As any forced induction system needs good supporting mods, the new M3s are also equipped with other race-worthy parts including a dual-flow carbon-fiber air intake and plenty of other aluminum bits beneath the hood. A full titanium exhaust system helps shed over 57 pounds versus the factory piping, and either the six-speed manual or seven-speed semi-automatic transmissions may be used.
Mechanically, the new Tornado CS and GT2 S are nearly identical, but the GT2 S gets the more intense Jenny Craig treatment. With weight loss in mind, the GT2 S ditches the rear seats and receives a full carbon-fiber body kit including a large rear wing. Both coupes are fitted with front racing bucket seats and, ultimately, the GT2 S tips the scales with a dry weight just under 3300 pounds. While a bit heavier, the Tornado CS is no pig itself, with its own array of carbon-fiber bodywork.
To prepare both M3s for track duty, G-Power installed new coil-over suspension and anti-roll bars to help drivers extract maximum turning performance. Both models utilize forged 20-inch wheels at each corner but the hardcore GT2 S features a slightly wider rear wheel to put more rubber to the ground — 315 versus 295 millimeters, to be exact. On paper, the Tornado CS hits 62 mph in 4.3 seconds while the extra weight savings propel the GT2 S to the same speed in 4.1 seconds.
Both models are touted to be road-legal — in Germany, at least — and the GT2 S reportedly costs close to $172,000, not including V.A.T. and other fees. Pricing for the Tornado CS was not revealed.
