Frankfurt 2011: Ford’s Evos Concept Previews Future Mondeo and Fusion

Ford claims that the Evos concept unveiled yesterday at the Frankfurt Motor Show is nothing more than a design preview to future Fords worldwide. The Evos is a revolutionary design with gullwing doors and a fast roofline. In person, the look is breathtaking and a evolution of Ford’s current kinetic design language.

However, despite what Ford may say, the Evos is a preview of the next-generation Mondeo and Fusion midsize sedans that will debut at the Detroit auto show next January. Ford has confirmed that the Evos will influence its new C/D (midsize) segment sedan, and spy shots of the next Fusion – it and the Mondeo will become one car – show lines and wheels almost identical to the Evos Concept. It’s just too bad that the gullwing doors won’t make it to production.
