Forget hopping over curbs in your local subdivision: Ford wants to give off-road enthusiasts a chance to play with its F-150 SVT Raptor in a new off-road school at Miller Motorsports Park. The Ford Racing Raptor Assault Program lets customers — whether or not they own an SVT Raptor — get behind the wheel of Ford’s off-road truck.
The school consists of several different programs that take place at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. The park features an eight-acre rock-crawling course, a 22-acre area for high-speed off-roading, and a 900-acre desert-racing course. One of the programs simply consists of hot-laps in which guests ride in a Raptor alongside Ford drivers. There’s also a three-hour Raptor Assault Experience that includes those hot laps, plus time on the rock-crawling and off-road courses. Finally, a one-day school includes hot laps with professional drivers and time on all three of the facility’s off-road courses.
Prices range from $300 for the three-hour program to $1395 for the one-day school, although owners of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor are eligible for discounts. Miller Motorsports Park also hosts the Boss Track Attack program, which provides free driving instruction to all buyers of a Ford Mustang Boss 302.
The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor comes exclusively with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine, six-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive. Features like off-road wheels and tires, a locking rear differential, and special Fox Racing off-road suspension components all help the Raptor handle tough terrain. Upgrades for 2013 include HID headlights, a new Terrain paint color, and the availability of SYNC with MyFord Touch. Pricing for the 2013 SVT Raptor starts at $44,335 after destination.
