Need a mid-week pick-me-up? How about new pictures of the harder-core Audi R8 GT?
Audi today has dropped a bunch of new pictures of their harder-edged coupe for your enjoyment, but if you haven’t already, head over to our First Look at the new R8 GT to get all the details and more pictures. If you don’t have time, we’ll summarize them here quickly. First, that 5.2-liter Lamborghini-derived V-10 picks up an extra 35 horsepower and seven pound-feet of torque for a total of 560 horsepower and 398 pound-feet. It’ll meet the pavement via the R-Tronic six-speed single-clutch sequential automated manual gearbox and Quattro permanent all-wheel drive only. And while power goes up, weight comes down thanks to extreme (and expensive) measures to just 3362 pounds.
All that work, Audi says, is good for a sprint to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of near-as-makes-no-difference 199 mph. Along with the extra speed, Audi also sets you up with a nice bit of kit standard, including big carbon-ceramic brakes, a fixed carbon-fiber wing, new wheels with sticky rubber and a manually-adjustable coil-over suspension. All told, it adds about 50,000 euro to the sticker, which now rings up at 193,000 euro. Make the straight conversion and that puts the price tag at around $255,000 before adjusting for differing taxation, or nearly $100,000 more than a base R8 5.2 V10 with the R-Tronic transmission. And that’s only if any of the 333 R8 GTs built actually come to the U.S.
