Fire At Audi Auto Show Display; Showgoers Evacuated from Cobo Center

According to the Detroit Free Press and a number of different Twitter accounts, Cobo Center in Detroit — home to the 2010 Detroit Auto Show — is being evacuated because of an electrical fire near the Audi display.

The North American International Auto Show opened up its doors to the public last weekend and has so far recorded more visitors than last year.

“The Audi employees tried moving people off the floor, and started moving the cars. The flames really spread fast,” said Kelly Strong, a visiting student. “They did a good job making sure people were out of there.”

The show has been closed temporarily, but is expected to reopen tonight.
