During the traditional bout of speed-based insanity known as the Texas Mile, a 1000 horsepower Ford GT built by Hennessey managed to post a 235-mph run last weekend. Want to know what it feels like watching the speedometer needle blitz past the mark for Ludicrous Speed? Check out the clip below.
Over the Memorial Day holiday, GT owner Mark H. and driver Sean K. were able to post a best run through the mile-long course of 235.1 mph. What makes the run more impressive is they were facing a 20-mph headwind most — if not all — the time.
The Ford GT has been upgraded with twin 67-mm turbos, along with supporting fuel, intake and exhaust upgrades installed and tuned by the guys at Hennessey to reach the 1000 horsepower mark.
