The Nissan Juke-R build documentary — or, more accurately, the retrospective — continues! Nissan Europe today has released a new video documenting the creation of the Juke-R’s interior. Nissan and RML’s engineers had one goal in mind when creating the super Juke’s interior: to give the driver the same driver-oriented experience in the Juke-R, as they would get in the GT-R.
One of the major challenges Nissan Europe and RML Engineers faced with the Juke-R’s interior was the fact that everything in the car was moved back almost 5-inches due to the extra bank of cylinders. Once the engineers finally got the optimal driving position set up, they worked on incorporating the GT-R’s steering wheel assembly (including its paddle shifters) into the Juke-R’s interior. The final challenge was getting the Juke’s dash panels to fit with the GT-R’s switchgear and instruments. The solution ended up being fabricating a custom center console for the Juke-R.
