What would compel two otherwise ordinary gentlemen, and their chauffeurs, to race and fight in classic Rolls-Royce sedans? According to this new sepia-tinged commercial, the theft of Grey Poupon Dijon mustard would be more than enough cause.
The new ad for Grey Poupon picks up where the original 1980s clip left off. When one polite gentleman asks a passing motorist to borrow some mustard — and then drives off without returning it — the chase is on. The two Rolls-Royces dice through a golf course and slither through an urban street as their occupants duel with words, golf clubs, and special weapons. Those bespoke weapons are suited only to the most discerning of clientele: a gun that fires champagne corks and an oil slick device that spreads caviar on the roadway.
Sadly for fans of classic British cars, the two Rolls-Royce sedans used in the commercial meet an unfortunate end after the chase concludes. But we won’t spoil the fun — the new commercial, along with its original version and several “behind the scenes” clips, are embedded below.
