The feeling of euphoria and triumph after a victorious moment can make athletes do funny things sometimes. Whether it be a funny dance after a touchdown, or a shirtless lap around a soccer field, the excitement needs to be expressed somehow. For racer Shane Van Gisbergen, he celebrates sideways.
After the young New Zealand native reaped another career win at the Hidden Valley V8 Supercar race in Darwin, Australia, he performed a drifting dance with his V-8 Falcon around the track.
He floats around the track, literally smoking his competitors, as he leaves a curtain of smoke behind him after each corner. He only spins out at the very end, but like the announcer says, “he meant to do that,” as he heads into the pit. Check out the smoky, sideways celebration below.
