Feature Flick: Porsche’s Cayenne GTS Is One Quick Gem

The color of the 2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS in the video below is Peridot Metallic, an obvious allusion to the precious peridot gem. But the Cayenne has something a precious stone doesn’t: 420 horsepower. Check out the Cayenne GTS in its natural habitat: a deserted curvy mountain road.

The video below is little more than a teaser for the new model, which combines a 4.8-liter, 420-horse V-8 engine, an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. That’s 20 more horses than the Cayenne S, but 80 fewer than the Cayenne Turbo. The GTS does, however, get the Turbo’s brakes, hood, and front fascia. Owners can also paint their GTSs in one of two special colors, the Peridot Metallic here or Carmine Red. At $83,025, the GTS is considerably more than the $66,825 asking price of the Cayenne S, but it’s also a heck of a lot less than the Cayenne Turbo, which starts at $109,825.

All in all, the Cayenne GTS is anything but bland, and no doubt Porsche will find many buyers. Let us know if you think the car (and video) are hot or not in the comments below.
