A new commercial from Nissan that previews the 2013 Altima gives us some unexpected surprises: glimpses at five new models that Nissan will introduce over the next 15 months.
Two of the products shown under sheets have already been revealed: the 2013 Pathfinder was shown in concept form at the Detroit show in January, and the 2013 Altima was just unveiled at the New York show. And Nissan executives have confirmed that a new version of the Sentra compact sedan is due later this year.
Also visible beneath the sheets are a small crossover and another compact car. It’s possible those are replacements for the Rogue or Murano crossovers, and the new Versa hatchback (the Versa sedan was updated for 2012, but not the hatchback). Even though the cars’ basic shapes are betrayed by their fabric covers, it’s still tough to tell what they really are.
We can expect to learn more about the future Sentra and the other two cars previewed by this car over the next few months. After all, the commercial promises that this will be Nissan’s “most innovative year ever.”
