Feature Flick: Nissan GT-R and “World’s Fastest Man” Pair Up in New Ad Campaign

Nissan will team up with the world’s fastest man, sprinting world record holder Usain Bolt, to sell the brand’s fastest product, the GT-R. Kicking off the new ad campaign is a pair of promotional videos in which the Olympic gold medalist talks about his love for his personal GT-R, bought in 2009, and how well matched the car is for his boastful tastes.

In the first video, Bolt answers questions regarding how it feels to be the world’s fastest man, what he thinks about Nissan, and why he bought a Nissan GT-R. The 25-year-old Olympian reveals he’s been a fan of Nissan Skylines since the early ‘90s, and says he was convinced to buy the current-generation GT-R after he read reviews online. While Bolt can sprint from 0-100 meters in 9.58 seconds, the GT-R can hit 60 mph from a standstill in under three seconds.

The second video consists mostly of behind-the-scenes footage and shows Bolt arriving to a photo shoot in his black GT-R. The campaign begins June 1, and will run for multiple years using the “WHAT IF_” tagline. Check out the videos below to find out if this fast man/machine pairing has chemistry.
