If you and the family are getting stir crazy and are tired of the cliché summer activities like amusement parks and zoos, then be sure to check out Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, U.K. Along with checking out the many exhibits and galleries are opportunities to drive the cars, too.
Among the many free activities planned for the summer is a performance by the Silver Arrows driving team. In the teaser video below, the Silver Arrows tear up the race track in a fleet of Mercedes-Benz AMGs, showing off high-speed power slides and drifts. The team is scheduled to perform at Mercedes-Benz World everyday from July 21 to September 5, 2011.
And if the orchestrated sounds of hand-built, twin-turbo V8s aren’t enough, kids will also get the opportunity to drive the pint-sized Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The only requirement is that they’re at least 1.5 meters (4 feet, 11 inches) tall. Behind-the-wheel options are even better for the grownups. The driving experience will provide an opportunity to drive most models Mercedes-Benz lineup — including the SLS Gullwing coupe — on various tracks located at Mercedes-Benz World. Those who want to get dirty could test out SUVs on the 10-acre off-road course.
The indoor facilities will be open to the public as well and includes a cinema experience, an automotive museum and a build simulation. Also on display is an impressive F1 exhibit that features a blown up display of an actual race car.
