One lucky YouTube user stumbled across a very rare scene: a Maserati MC-12, Aston Martin V8 V600 Le Mans, and a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe all being loaded onto a car carrier. Sadly, all three of the cars – along with a canary-yellow Porsche Carrera GT — were all being seized by French authorities.
According to user alexsmolik, the four supercars were but a small part of a collection belonging to the son of President of Equatorial Guinea. Apparently, before this video was snapped, the police carted off a red Ferrari Enzo, a Ferrari 599 GTO, a blue Bugatti Veyron, a chrome Bugatti Veyron GrandSport, and even an Aston Martin One-77. Lucky for us viewers, we can sample the heavenly noise made by the Maserati as it is loaded onto the car carrier.
No reason was given as to why the Parisian police were seizing the cars, but the BBC previously reported that luxury homes bought by the leader’s son have been seized and purchases blocked based on inquiries as to where the funds came from. Similar questions arose earlier this year over the commissioning of a yacht as well.
