We’re roughly a week away from the official unveiling of Gymkhana 5, the latest installment in skate icon/ shoe mogul/ rally racer Ken Block’s successful Gymkhana Web video series. What do we know? This time, Ken Block — along with his Ford Fiesta rally car — is on a boat.
Well, not exactly. From what the short 37-second clip shows, Ken Block is again behind the wheel of his Ford Fiesta HFHV machine, but he’s not drifting the rallycross machine on a circuit, through a city, around a soundstage, or through aircraft hangers. This time, he’s sliding his Ford Fiesta within the confines of a floating barge, which was pushed just beneath the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
Given the limited surface space available – along with the fact the Bay is privy to strong winds and choppy waters – Ken Block’s Gymkhana 5 stunt video may have been rather tricky to pull off, despite the agility and small footprint of the Ford Fiesta. We’ll know for sure when the finished Gymkhana 5 video debuts online on July 9th. Until then, enjoy Gymkhanas 1-4 below.
