Feature Flick: Ken Block Gets Ready for 100 Acre Wood Rally

If you’ve been watching rally driver Ken Block’s YouTube videos of late, you might have forgotten that the man is a professional rally driver. What with the videos of gymkhana, gorillas, and hooning, all of the actual professional racing might appear to take a back burner. Not anymore: Block has released a video of himself training for this year’s 100 Acre Wood Rally in Missouri.

Block looks fairly relaxed as he slides around trees and other obstacles on gravel, and for good reason: he’s won this race the last five times, and at the time of the video, was gunning for his sixth trophy.

Armed with his Ford Fiesta Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle and co-driver Alex Gelsomino calmly delivering pace notes, Block got his wish, finishing the race in first place last weekend, beating the next best competitor by a cool 29 seconds. As it turns out, Block’s preparation paid off. Take a look for yourself in the video below.

So lovely to see this becoming more mainstream, truly the golden age of autos; bless Ford.
