John Hennessey and his minions have been hard at work lately. The Hennessey Performance (HPE) crew recently celebrated its new Southern California tuning shop with an open house two weeks ago. This week, Hennessey and company will be in Monterey, attending this year’s Pebble Beach show. In the midst of this busy schedule, HPE was able to piece together the Hennessey HPE650 Supercharged Boss 302 Mustang Laguna Seca shown here, and strap it to a dyno. Noise — sweet, glorious noise — and power result.
Hennessey begins the transformation from stock by adding a TVS2300 supercharger and the requisite breathing and fuel upgrades: air intake, throttle body, and fuel injectors. The team then opened the side exhaust bypass for more flow out of the engine. HPE engineers worked their magic dyno tuning and road testing the Boss adding their own engine management calibration.
The HPE650 Boss 302 is rated 650hp at 7000 rpm at the flywheel. Check out the video below to see how much power (and torque) the new Boss puts to the pavement! Warning: You may want to turn your volume down.
