We don’t know what you got for your high school graduation, but we’re guessing it probably wasn’t a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible. Ironically, the main character in Chevrolet’s latest Super Bowl ad spot – selected as part of the company’s Route 66 contest – doesn’t receive one either, although he thinks otherwise.
The ad was created by Zach Borst, a 26-year-old independent filmmaker from Long Island. Borst won Chevrolet’s Route 66 Super Bowl ad contest, which called on filmmakers to submit advertisements on YouTube that featured General Motors’ “Chevy Runs Deep” tagline.
Borst’s ad features an over-zealous graduate, a yellow Chevy Camaro SS Convertible, and quite a lot of screaming. For his winning submission, Zach will receive $25,000–unfortunately not enough to buy the Camaro in the video, but a respectable chunk of change nonetheless.
