The latest Hot Wheels Chevrolet Camaro isn’t one you can keep on your desk or roll down your dining room table. The 2012 Hot Wheels Camaro is instead a real-life vehicle built for the 2011 Specialty Equipment Market Association show, and pays tribute to some of the original Hot Wheels models.
The car, which was developed in conjunction with the toymakers at Mattel, started as a stock 2012 Camaro before engineers added a special bright-green-hued chrome finish Spectraflame – a paint hue used on early Hot Wheels cars – along with as giant wheels and quad-tipped exhausts with red accents. To celebrate the partnership between Chevrolet and Hot Wheels a little bit more, Mattel made another version of the Hot Wheels Camaro Concept–albeit in a collector-friendly 1:64 form.
The Camaro will make its debut at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas, where it will no doubt dazzle showgoers. In the meantime, check out the build video below and let us know what you think in the comments.
