Facelifted 2010 Mazda CX-9 to Debut at New York Auto Show
Mazda will show a slightly revised version of its seven-seat crossover at the New York auto show next month. The CX-9 receives an exterior and interior refresh with the addition of new options, reinforced safety features, and further improved Zoom-Zoom driving characteristics.
No further details have been released yet, but we can see the some of the exterior changes from this photo from Mazda. A new front fascia features smaller foglights and a five-point grille similar to the ones on the new Mazda 3 and CX-7. The CX-9 in the picture, which is most likely a grand touring model, also appears to be sporting new 20-inch wheels.
We’re assuming “further improved Zoom-Zoom driving characteristics” probably means sharper handling and increased rigidity. The CX-9 wasn’t lacking in the handling department compared to its competition, but as it is a 4600-pound crossover, there’s always room for improvement.
More information on the 2010 CX-9 will be available when it debuts in New York. It will be accompanied by the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 and 2010 CX-7 which are both making U.S. debuts at the show.
