Edo Competition Tunes the Ferrari Enzo to Create the Enzo XX Evolution

The Ferrari Enzo was one of the most extraordinary road cars produced this decade, but that didn’t stop Edo Competition from tweaking it to build the Enzo XX Evolution.

Ferrari created a higher performance variant of the Enzo with the FXX, but it could only be used on a track. Edo Competition’s model, despite using the same XX designation as on Ferrari’s track models, is based off the tamer Enzo street model.It performs like a street legal FXX.

To create the Enzo XX Evolution, Edo Competition increased the displacement of the Enzo’s 6.0-liter V-12 to 6.3 liters, put in new camshafts, replaced the stock titanium valve spring retainers and connecting rods with lighter titanium units, added a high performance exhaust system (with butterfly valves), and high flow air filters. All these engine modifications increase horsepower by an astonishing 180 hp to 830 hp, and allow the V-12 to rev to 9600 rpm.

With the increase in power, Edo pushed the stock driveshafts past their breaking point and thus had to replace them with stronger units. The new driveshafts also weight almost 9 lbs. less than stock.

Edo didn’t stop simply with engine modifications. The tuning firm lowered the transmission’s shift times from 110 milliseconds to a blistering 60 milliseconds. It also added an aerodynamics kit similar to that seen on the FXX track car to create more downforce. As part of the aerodynamics kit, the exhaust pipes were relocated to the top of the body and a three-way adjustable spoiler was added, both similar to the FXX.

With a 220-lb. lower curb weight and 180 more hp, the Enzo XX Evolution is faster than the stock Enzo and will blaze on to a higher top speed. The Enzo XX Evolution will do 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, on to 124 mph in 9 seconds flat on its way to a top speed ofmore than242 mph.
