The good little boys and girls over at Car magazine for the past few years have asked automakers to submit their renderings of Santa’s Sleigh. This year, Jaguar and Land Rover have drawn up what they think St. Nick’s ride should look like.
Jaguar has sketched up what seems to resemble a fighter plane reminiscent of the WWII era. The sleigh sports an open cockpit, propellers and even a pinup model to keep Santa company during his adventures. With side-by-side seating, there is a place for one of Santa’s Helpers.
The Land Rover variant features a longer more sleek design. With wheel-like contraptions at all four corners, this sleigh looks to be ready for almost any terrain. Again with a 1+1 seating arrangement, Santa has room for a helper. Land Rover oddly has Santa in its design smoking a huge cigar, which doesn’t seem like a very good example to be setting.
Both concepts however do not include reindeer, which is somewhat of a bummer. Let’s hope neither of these ever makes it to production as the new designs would displace eight reindeer from work.
We will say that the renderings look awesome and a big thanks to the folks at Jag and Land Rover for their good holiday spirit. Though one question remains, where does Santa store all the gifts?

The Land Rover version looks like a modern day take on the old Norelco commercial, with the rotary razor sleigh replaced by a Nokia cell phone.Oh, and while not “powered” by “8 tiny reindeer”, both renderings do feature a reindeer in the co-pilot seat. :p
