It’s only natural that selecting an upgraded option such as a larger engine would cost extra, but not if you make the upgrade to a Hemi V-8 on your new Ram truck during the month of February. Then it’s free.
Normally a $2295 upgrade from the anemic 3.7-liter V-6 and its paltry 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque or a $1310 upgrade from the mid-grade 4.7-liter V-8 and its 302 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, the 390-horsepower, 407-pound-foot, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 can be yours for free if you act fast. As an added incentive for the month of February (also known as Truck Month to Ram dealers), Ram will upgrade your truck to the top-shelf Hemi V-8 for no extra charge. No charge for up to 180 extra horsepower and 175 extra pound-feet of torque? Not a bad deal.
If the thought of settling for anything less than the Hemi was unconscionable to you to begin with, you haven’t been left out. Ram is also offering $500 in “Engine Bonus Cash” V-6 trucks and $1000 for V-8 or Cummins-powered trucks. You can also score an extra $2000 in “Consumer Cash” on 2011 Ram 1500 Quad Cab and Crew Cab models and $1000 in “Owner Loyalty Cash” on all models. Point is, Ram really wants to move some trucks right now, so if you’re in the market, it’s not a bad time to buy.
