The 2014 Ford Fiesta is set to debut later this year with styling reminiscent of the new 2013 Fusion. A spy photographer recently managed to catch a new 2014 Fiesta sedan testing with no body cladding, providing us a good idea of what the next Fiesta will look like.
Without the body cladding up front, we can clearly see that the 2014 Fiesta has a baby 2013 Fusion vibe. The car’s reworked headlights subtly mimic the Fusion’s, while its grille looks to be an almost direct transplant of the Fusion’s Aston-Martin grille. The front end shots reinforce our guess that the 2014 Fiesta may move the optional LED running lights mounted below the headlights to a new set integrated into the headlights.
Around back this 2014 Fiesta sedan sports a trunk with a new integrated lip spoiler. The rear bumper also looks to be squarer than before, while the taillights also receive a Fusion-like appeal. The funky multi-color door handles won’t make it into production.
Given Ford’s engine downsizing trend, the U.S.-spec 2014 Fiesta is likely to be powered by the EcoBoost 1.0-liter turbocharged I-3, producing around 125 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. The Fiesta’s current 1.6-liter I-4 makes 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque, and receives 29/39 mpg city/highway in regular 2013 Fiesta models and 29/40 mpg in SFE trim.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta is expected to debut this fall at the Los Angeles auto show.
