Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus will unveil its latest creationsat the Frankfurt Motor Show — but what are they? The two grainy teaser photos released so far do little to elucidate which Mercedes productshave received the go-fast treatment from Brabus.
All we know is that the company promises “It’s Showtime – 10.536 hp / 1.200 Ampere.” So is Brabus debuting several vehicles whose total power adds up to 10,536 hp? Or electric cars with electric motors rated at a combined 1200 amps?
“Expect the unexpected and see a couple of highlights as well as breathtaking world premieres,” promises Brabus’ website. Which gives us absolutely no guidance as to what the tuner might unveil.
We think there are at least two separate cars shown in the teaser photos. The head-on image appears to show the nose of a Mercedes CLS-Class poking out from under the silky red sheet. The car seen in profile, with its more steeply raked rear windshield, looks like a Mercedes C-Class. Given that, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Brabus unleash its high-performance take on the 518-hp CLS63 AMG and 451-hp C63 AMG. Heck, we’re already drooling at the thought of a successor to the insane Brabus Rocket, a CLS-based creation that packed almost 720 hp underhood.
We’ll learn more when the car is unveiled in Frankfurt on Tuesday, September 13. One thing is for certain: Brabus never fails to disappoint when it comes to outrageous horsepower figures.
