If you missed the boat on getting the small handful of Frozen Grey and Frozen Black BMW M3 models offered in the U.S., you’ll be getting another opportunity to get a matte-finished ultimate driving machine in the year ahead. BMW is building a comparatively generous 150 units of its new Frozen Edition models in Red, White and Blue.
Production will begin in January 2013. If you want to be the owner of one of these limited specimens, be prepared to bring your checkbook. The official MSRP of the Frozen Edition models is $76,395, including destination. All Frozen Edition models come standard with the Competition Package, which includes 19-inch matte black wheels, electronic damper control, lowered suspension, the Premium Package, Black Novillo leather with color contrast stitching matching the exterior color, carbon leather trim, high-gloss black kindney grille bezels, side vents and rear exhaust tips, a carbon fiber roof panel, and a standard six-speed manual transmission.
For those owners that plan on spending more time on the road than at the track, the 2013 Frozen Edition models will be offered with an M-DCT dual-clutch transmission as an option, and the cold weather package, heated front seats, rear spoiler delete, satellite radio, moonroof and rear spoiler delete also available as options.
Buyers can take delivery of their vehicles in Munich or at BMW’s Performance Delivery Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where new owners can also participate in the BMW M driving school.
