BMW features the option of a Sport Package for the 5 Series, but due out this September is an even better alternative: the M Sports Package.
For an unspecified amount, likely higher than the $2200 price tag attached to the Sport Package, M aficionados will receive the benefits of a specially tuned M sport suspension, M aerodynamics kit, and the choice between 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels. A rear spoiler remains an option within the package and new Alcantara sport seats are fitted to the interior, which is also joined by exclusive upholstery, an M leather steering wheel, M shift lever, and various other touches.
Pegged for its international debut in September, we hope the M Sports Package makes it to the United States at some point. A request for comment from BMW on the package’s U.S. ETA was not immediately returned.
After its redesign for the 2011 model year, the 5 Series is officially sold out with a four-month waiting list in the U.S. Outside our borders, the midsize sedan has also been flying off the proverbial shelf (according to BMW) and future customers will just need a touch of patience prior to acquiring their own.
