Yes, we’re still waiting to see Subaru’s BRZ Prologue Concept — which reportedly foreshadows an all-new rear-wheel-drive sports coupe — in its entirety. Until Subaru unwraps the car at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, we’re living on small teasers — like the one shown above.
Though this particular teaser photo doesn’t show much more than another the BRZ’s engine compartment, Subaru has now provided exterior dimensions for the all-new coupe: it will be 165 inches long, 69.7 inches wide, 50 inches tall, and ride on a 101-inch wheelbase. Those numbers almost mirror both the Porsche Cayman and Audi TT, although it will sit lower and have shorter overhangs than either of those two.
Power will come from a 2.0-liter, direct-injected boxer-four cylinder that was designed specifically for the BRZ. We’ve previously reported that this engine will most likely make around 200 hp, and send power to the rear wheelsthrough either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The BRZ will also be riding on a new-to-Subaru platform, but there is no word yet if it is a modified version of something Toyota currently has in its parts bin or all-new.
Subaru will pull the curtain off of the BRZ next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Stick with Automobile Magazine for our full coverage on the Frankfurt Motor Show September 13 and 14.
